Biddeford Primary School opened its doors in December of 1990 with the closing of Emery School. Designed for students in Kindergarten to third grade, students were gathered from the High School, Kennedy School and Emery School to fill the state of the art building to capacity. Increasing enrollments required the gradual shift of third grades back to Kennedy school over the years with the final third grades moving for the 1995-1996 school year. In the 2006-2007 school year third grades were moved back to the Primary School with the opening of the new Biddeford Middle School. The creation of a Kindergarten Center at Kennedy School moved K students from the Primary School to JFK.

Presently the school houses 580 students in grades one, two and three. BPS educators are dedicated to providing students with a top-notch education. The curriculum is child-centered and skills based.

Principal Warren

Joan L. Warren taught in Biddeford for twenty years before she became principal at Biddeford Primary School. As a mother of three and a grandmother, she knows the lifelong gifts that a great school experience can bestow upon each student. She believes that success breeds success and adults at primary school can create the conditions for successful students. Focus is on student learning at BPS.

A Biddeford native, Mrs. Warren is very proud of her students and staff and continues to enjoy serving the hard working students and families of Biddeford!
